Korinne Bell
Ventura County Agricultural Commissioner
Background
Korinne Bell was raised on her family’s citrus ranch in Ventura County, which has since transitioned to growing avocados. She remains actively involved in managing the family ranch to this day.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and later pursued a Master of Education at Azusa Pacific University.
Experience
Korinne has been with the Ventura County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office since 2006. She initially joined as temporary staff, assisting with pesticide use data entry while teaching 6th grade. Her interest in the department’s work was sparked during a ride-along, which gave her a firsthand look at its operations—and she was immediately hooked.
Throughout the years, Korinne has risen through the ranks, starting as an Agricultural Inspector/Biologist and eventually becoming the Agricultural Commissioner. During her tenure, she has worked in and overseen a wide range of programs, including Pesticide Use Enforcement, Pest Exclusion, Certified Farmers’ Markets, Organic Certification, Standardization, the Pierce’s Disease Control Program, Agricultural Disaster Assessment, and the publication of the annual Ventura County Crop & Livestock Report.
