Enforcement Response

Enforcement Response

Our department responds to incidents involving the misuse of pesticides by investigating complaints of pesticide-related illness or injury, environmental harm, and other hazardous uses. When violations of laws or regulations are identified during inspections or investigations, we take appropriate action. Compliance actions are advisory and aim to educate and guide adherence to pesticide regulations, while enforcement actions impose penalties, such as fines or permit revocations, to ensure accountability and promote safe, lawful pesticide use.

All pesticide incidents should be reported to our office as soon as possible to allow for a thorough investigation. Timely reporting helps investigators gather accurate details and collect critical evidence. To file a pesticide-related complaint, please contact one of our offices.

If you or someone else becomes seriously ill, call 911 immediately. For less urgent situations, contact your doctor or the Poison Control Center at 800-222-1222. The Poison Control Center provides free first-aid information and guidance on next steps.

If you would like to report a pesticide complaint, please contact our Camarillo Office at (805) 388-4222, our Santa Paula Office at (805) 933-2926, or you can send us an email at ag.inspector@venturacounty.gov
